Because of many problems with our Android-engine, we have decided to re-develop the Gobudgie-Android core. Currently it’s based on Shashlik which is using QEMU. Now, we will use Anbox, which directly runs Android on the same kernel. This results much better performance and less of crashs. We hope that you’ll enjoy our next release.
We changed the APK runtime to Shashlik. Reason is the worse compatibility of ARC. We’ve tested Anbox too, but it is not very well working on older Hardware, so we decided to use Shashlik. We arrived to integrate Android runtime for ChromeOS. So now you can install almost every APK in Gobuntu. Still problems with Apps Stores. No automatic App installation possible yet. We are working on it.
